how pregnancy prevents breast cancer.

it's amazing how painful this aspect of the topic still is for me, because pregnancy sure failed to protect my sister...

i also remember how angry i was when i finally sat down and read through the literature, and noticed the protective effect was not from "having a baby in your early 20's as opposed to late 20's", but from "having a baby BEFORE age 20." i had always unknowingly bought into the societal message that i could have protected myself from breast cancer that way, but chose not to because other things were important to me: finishing college, waiting for the right guy, etc.

but it simply isn't true that anyone would advocate mass teen pregnancy. it's just another lie to make women feel guilty.

yeah, still a bit angry apparently. :)
